1986 Isuzu Truck 239000 miles

The truck will crank after cooling off but when it gets warm will not stay running. Have changed fuel filter, choke is working and have cleaned carb. I have checked for vacuum leaks and haven't found any. The truck drives fine but if I have to stop or put in the clutch it will die, cranks right back up and will run as long as I am giving it gas.

I have an '89 Isuzu with 398,000 miles. I rebuilt it 6 years ago. Try checking the slow cut solenoid on the carb. Its purpose is to shut off the fuel when the ignition is turned off, to prevent dieseling. It doesn't have much effect on engine operation above an idle. With the engine OFF, have someone turn the ignition on and off (NOT STARTING OR even turning the engine over) You just want to hear if the slow cut solenoid clicks on and off. If not, replace it.
