2002 Isuzu Trooper 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I had my starter go bad on my trooper, like to never got the old one out had to take it apart, can not get new on in due to space problems no room, any suggestions to get it in?

Mitchell doesnt suggest a different procedure for 2 or 4wd , but it does say to remove the left front exhaust pipe (see pic) then the starter comes out the bottom
