2001 Isuzu Trooper Check engine light flashing

They recently put a new engine in my Trooper at 34,000 miles. I have to constantly check the oil every 1000 miles. I just had it changed. Now my check engine light comes on and blinks only when I press the accelerator. It does this for about 15 minutes and then goes off. It has done this 3 times and now the check engine light has stayed on. I am going to take it to the dealer and have it looked at. I would like to know if I can fix it myself before I take it up there. Also, I would like to know so I can tell them what I think it is, to not waste time. Thanks

Hi there,

The first thing to do in diagnosing this problem is to get a scan done so you know what the set fault code is, this will direct you to the problem area as each component has a unique code set when it is faulty or a problem exist with its system, start here.
