Vehicle calls for 245/70/16 tires. I have been given set of new tires size 225/75/16. What are the implications of using these as replacements? Is it advisable

Ok the difference between the two sizes is not much. The 225/75/16 is just a touch thinner and therefore a touch shorter. Meaning that it is faster turning the 245/70/16 does 705 revs per mile the 225/75/16 does 710.3 per mile so your speedo will be a bit off. When doing 60 you will probably really doing about 57. Other then that as long as all tires are the same size no harm will be done. Hope this helps.
