1994 Isuzu Trooper Mysterious shut off
The truck sat undriven for about 7 months with an empty tank. When I tried to start driving it again it would crank but it would not start. It had been driven in sand and salt water so I had some corrosion on my ground wire which was causing it to overload. We cleaned the area and replaced the wire and it started up just fine but now it shuts off after about 15-20 min when cold. Replaced spark plugs and wires, ignition coils were tested and are fine, had a small amount of water in the tank so we drained it and replaced the fuel filter. The problem is not solved. When it's running it's smooth, but then it'll start missing and the rpms will go up and down for about a minute and then it's dead. If I hold the gas down and keep the rpms above 2000 it will stay on but runs rough and as soon as I let go of the gas it dies. After it sits for a min or two it will start again and run for a few min and die again. When it starts missing the check engine light flashes briefly before the shut-down. Our only other idea is maybe something is triggering my O2 sensor but have not checked it out yet. Any thoughts?
