I initiated 4 wheel drive and it soon started making a grinding noise with a smell. I could not disengage the 4 wheel drive as it was stuck in this postion. Ended up having the vehicle towed home. How can I determine if this is the Transmission or Transfer Case problem before I have it towed in for repair?
