Check Engine light

I have a Isuzu Rodeo 2001 with 58,000 miles on it. I have been having a problem for the last 4 weeks. My check engine light keeps coming on. First my car stalls out and then acts as if it does not want to start. This problem started right after I had my oil changed which they forgot to tighten the bolt underneath. Once I had them fix this and the oil was replenished. The light went out then today it started again. The car shuddered then cut off. Today I had the defroster going. I thought maybe because it has been cold out this morning, I cranked the car to let it warm up. I left for work before I was totally warm and put the defrost on. At the stop light it shuddered and died. I have been having shudders lately but only when I am in drive is when the car is stopped. The problem seem to happen when I am in drive and the car idles is when the problem seems to occur. I no I am confusing but I am trying to explain as best as I can.

Are you sure the oil is at the correct level? Did you run it dry before you realized it was draining? I am not a mechanic, but it seems to me an answer to these questions will help a real car expert.

We have a 2001 rodeo as well and our light came on at 58,000 miles after we had our oil changed proffessionally we didn't run it low. We had the computer read for a half hour nothing came up. The light went off for a day it is back on and now when we are tryingto go in reverse our car tries to die or just doesn't want to go all the time any ideas what it could be?
