1993 Trooper with 138,000 miles. When trying for passing gear it jumps out of drive and the engine races as tho it were a motorcycle with a missed gear like when speed shifting. I can't find any info on this problem. My son owns the car in Costa Rica. Is this a mechanical problem or electrical?
Sure would like to have an idea before he takes it to a shop.
