Ipod adaptor cassette stuck in the cassette player

The adaptor cassette is stuck and drains the battery overnight. I have googled and you tubed and tried all recommendations but it will not come out. The cord to the adaptor pulled out.

The radio will have to be removed and dismantled to get it out, it sounds as if the locking tag in the unit has a broken return spring not allowing it un lock and be ejected.
