2001 Infiniti QX Jerking/clunkin upon acceleration from a s

Upon acceleration from a stop there seems to be a clunking and jerking from the rear of the car. Other websites state that GM has had a problem with the differntial, more specifically slip yoke in the driveshaft. The dealer says becuase it is a used car these things are to be expected. They will not further diagnose the issue even though the car is under a limited warranty.
You can feel a bit of a jerking and hear the clunk when you accelerate from a stop. I thought that maybe it had something to do with the spare tire becuase it is suspended in the rear of the car. But after tightening down the spare, the same noise and feeling exists.
Is this something that Infinity is aware of and does not want to replace because of the cost? Who is responsible for these repairs on a 7 year old vehicle and is this covered under the powertrain?
