1995 Infiniti Q45 No Lights..

1995 Infiniti Q45 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 107k miles
Had lots of rain on 3/13/10 in South Jersey. While driving on a Main highway, came upon flooded areas to which I proceeded through slowly. Get up the next morning heading to work and discovered that I had no instrument lights, (my high beams were my only source of lights), with no tail lights, except when I applied the brakes. Signals, hazards, dome and trunk lights do work.. Not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination. What should I look for, before professional repair?
