THE ONLY THINGEES I KNOW OF ON THE COLUMN ARE THE SHIFT LEVER/ THE TURN/ SIGNALS/ AND THE STEERING TILT LEVER.
TO KEEP FROM TRASHING THE COLUMN AS A "QUICK FIX" (PROBABLY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE, AS OLDER STUFF GETS CRUSHED IN THE SALVAGE YARDS OR IT'S ALREADY CRAPPED OUT IN THE WEATHER) GET THE VIN NUMBER AND SEE IF A LOCKSMITH OR THE DEALER CAN MAKE YOU A KEY.
SURE, IT WILL COST SOMETHING, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS ANOTHER COLUMN AND THE CONSUMED TIME OF FINDING ONE AND INSTALLING IT.
WITHOUT A KEY, IT IS VERY CHALLENGING TO ATTEMPT TO INSTALL A NEW LOCK CYLINDER. ONE MUST TAKE OFF THE STEERING WHEEL AND OTHER GOODIES TO GET TO THE RETAINER, THE CYLINDER HAS TO BE IN THE "ON" POSITION AND THEN YOU ARE ABLE TO PUSH THE RETAINER.
