I just replaced the ignition actuator gear. When I put the ignition lock cylander in place it will only turn in the run position. I can't get it to go into other position( ie:lock, accessary. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you do not have the ignition lock cylinder fully locked into place correctly. When the cylinder is not installed, it locks in the run position. With it correctly seated in the housing, it can now be free to switch off and on.

Re: 96 ford aerostar
I have been successful with the placement of the ignition lock cylinder. It will turn to each position but now I can't get the key out. When the cylinder is out the key will come out in the lock position but it will not work when the cylinder is installed. I even bought a new ignition cylinder and the same problem still happens. PLEASE Help if you can.
