The car starts fine but in park it idles at 1500 rpms. When I put it in reverse it will stall out unless I give it gas. If I make it and put it in drive the car will stall out again unless I give it gas.

How long since a tune-up? Clean the throttle-body and idle air system. Any applicable mil trouble codes. You should able to check those codes, yourself.

If you don't have good cylinder compression, testing other systems won't matter.

I recently had an oil change and a tune up not too long ago. I cleaned the throttle body out with sea foam. Theres no trouble codes, and no check engine light. Any ideas on how to check cylinder compression?

Your local autostore has compression gages. I always check for applicable trouble codes, even if the lite isn't on.

Just wanted to add, not much load on the engine in park. There is a load when you put it in gear.

Your idle is supposed to be computer controlled. So, when you step on the brake to shift, it is an idle issue/closed throttle.
