Engine roars. I think it is the fan

I have a hemi and when I stop at a stop sign the engine roars and even though I have the brake on it surges ahead.

Hi,

If the fan clutch is engaged and won't release, it will make noise. Actually, it has been described as a jet engine.

You will need special tools to remove the clutch, but most parts stores will lend you the tools. See pic 1 below for tools needed.
