Recently I know while sitting still at a light my engine would idle down where my rpm would drop down to zero then right back up to one. Today while driving my car and went to park into a parking spot my car would not back up. It went into reverse fine but when I tap the gas it would not move the rpm would go up but my car would not back up. Can someone help me out

I have to be honest, it doesn't sound like an easy fix. I feel the computer needs to be scanned to see if there are any trans trouble codes.

With that many miles on it, I'm sure it's just a matter of time until something goes bad. If you have the money and the car is in good condition, I think I would rebuild the trans you have. If money is an issue, just replace the torque converter clutch.

I was checking into different places and the cheapest I found was $1,600 and I dont have that right now. Its a pretty good car it runs great and I haven't had any major issues with it until now when the fuel pump went up and now this. Do you know roughly how much it cost to fix just that one part

Hey, we're not too far apart. I'm near Pittsburgh.

You should be able to get the part at any nationally recognized parts store such as Auto Zone, Advance Auto.
