Recently my rpm tac was not moving with the speed of the car and than it would it would do this on and off not every day though and just this morning when I started my car to leave for work my speedometer tac wasnt moving with the speed either but my rpm one was working fine. Just these two are on and off and the rest of my gauges in the cluster work. There is no check engine light on. I was reading some other related topics about people having a stereo I have a sub and a pioneer cd player but that has been in there long before this started happening. Im not really sure where to look for the problem and what to get to fix it. I went to the dealer and they wanted 85/hr. No way. Any ideas on what the problem could be and also when my mileage hits 90,000 what engine maintenance should I do and look for. Thanks alot!

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

It may be a loose ground. I would start diagnosis here. If you have had any electrical work done on the vehicle recently check that area first i.e. (stereo install, dash kit ect..).

Other causes of this may be faulty wiring, faulty vehicle speed sensor(s), faulty reed switch, or damaged speedo cable. Normally faulty switches and sensors will trigger the engine light, so you may want to start troubleshooting with the wiring and go from there.

Below is the maintenance scheduled at 90,000 miles for your vehicle. ( under normal use)
