2000 Hyundai Sonata car sticks at 20mph and again at 40mph

Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Hyundai Sonata 6 cyl Automatic 62,000 miles

Help please,
Problem started intermitantly--sticks at 20 and 40mph--its like it will not go with the petal to the metal. Uphill about 10mph. I've had crankshaft position sensor replaced, this did not help. Then they told me they put in an ignition coil and fuel filter. $600. later now I'm told I need a new front catalytic converter. My sons friend said 2 and 5 misfire. Whatever that means.
I've been saving up more money for repairs but unemployment stopped. I live near Allentown PA.
Are there any good mechanics out here.
Thank you for your time
It is greatly appreciated.
p.s. I got the car new in 2000 but since it was February the hyundai dealer says that was when my warrenty was up even though its ten years.
