Engine Performance problem
1990 Hyundai Scoupe 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

i need to know if my hyundai scoupes fuel delivery system has a relay that controls the fuel fump while engine is on as when i turn ign on the pump makes a noise then soon as engine fires noise stops from pump and engine gives the impression that fuel has ran out . the pump cant be at fault as every time i turn on ignition the pump primes the system i have had it running smoothly since i had it then this failure has left me stranded and confused also the pump is quite noisey and recently has been described to me as a small robot in the boot!!!
