Speedometer and odometer

Electrical problem
2001 Hyundai Santa Fe 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 125214 miles

My santa fe's speedometer started bouncing around one day and then just stop working, as well as the odometer at that point. I just replaced the speedometer sensor and it did not fix the problem. Now the check engine light is on and its still not working. My rpm are also very high while Im driving when they should be lower. What should I do?

did you replace the vehicle speed sensor (VSS)? remove the VSS and inspect the drive gear that the sensor connects to, it could have broken teeth causing this issue.
