Hyundai excel, 1997, 130000 kilometers
I recently have had a lot of work done on my car, including new starter motor, the cylinder head was removed and sent for remachining, a new gasket set, timing belt spark plugs and leads. It is driving well now, but it has since started blowing a lot of whitish grey smoke from the exhaust pipe, usually when I have driven about 10 kms. This only seems to appear when I am traveling at 80kms/hr, when driving slower doesnt seem to happen. No smoke comes out at start up, only when it has warmed to normal running temperature. The oil and coolant levels have not dropped, tmperature gague does not move, I spent a lot of money getting all this work done, does this indicate more problems? Have no idea what couild be causing it

Hi there. Sounds like you have some sort of water leak. Is the water level in the radiator dropping? Also check the bottom of the oil filler cap for condensation - if there is moisture there then I would say that you have a cracked head or similar that is opening up as the engine warms up (the metal will be expanding making the crack worse when the car in hot). If this is the case then I would be asking the Mechanic what is going on as he ought to have seen this when your engine was in pieces. Hope this helps.
