The engine check light has come on in my 2005 Hyundai Tiburon, GS. It only has 11,200 miles. Any ideas aas to what the problem could be, or if this is a common issue with this model. The gas cap was secure. The Hyundai dealers cannot look at it until more than 3 weeks from today, and I just purchased the car, used, 2 days ago.

There are hundreds of different codes that the computer could have stored. You will need an exact coed number to help narrow down the issue. Some large chain stores will do this free iof charge.

A lot of vehicle manufacturers have a much longer warranty period (5 years unlimited mileage) on emmision related parts. It is worth the call to find out their policies.

Good luck and let us know what you find. :)
