The car dealer told me the check engine light came on because they cleaned the engine and got water inside the distributor cap. Is this possible?
Another dealing checked and said it was caused by ignition coil problem.

Either of them could be right. However, if they cleaned the engine, the water would have evaporated eventually and the vehicle should have started running normally again.

Do you know what code they got when they scanned the computer?
