2003 Hyundai Accent Repair Question

Noise while in reverse
Brakes problem
2003 Hyundai Accent 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 62,000 miles
My vehicle was making sort of a chain dragging noise while driving at regular speeds, it would stop when I applied the brakes.
Then that noise kind of calmed down a little bit, now it makes a sort of loud friction noise in reverse and it stops when I apply the brakes.
I have no idea.....well some idea.....
