How to Replace Flex plate and safety tips

I just bought a 1977 Chevy C10 with a 350 engine Automatic transmission and I found out I needed to replace the flex plate. I wanted to do it myself since I got the time and to save money. I was asking if I could get a list of Step-by-Step on how to do the job. Also some safety tips would be very helpfull. Thanks

Do you have a lft available? You will need to remove the automatic transmission to access the flywheel.

Yes I do. I got all the tools that are neccessary. How do I remove the transmission?
