It makes a loud noise when I turn the car on and hot air coming from a/c when I turn on a/c. Mechanic said that the a/c compressor needs to be replaced before it tears up the belt. And the loud noise continues even when I am driving the car and sometimes it does not make the loud noise. Could you tell me the steps on how to take out the old compressor and put in the new one and how to put r134 into it to make it have cold air again. Thank you.

Hello,

Replacing the A/C compressor can be done in a reasonable amount of time depending on your comfort level.
Before taking off any of the hoses you will have to evacuate the A/C system.

Here is a helpful video of how to do that:

The serpentine belt needs to be removed before you take out the A/C compressor.

I have attached the replacement procedure for the A/C compressor below.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
