I have a 2000 Honda prelude that is burning oil. I had a mechanic (really good and straight forward) replace the valve gasket because the spark plugs were swimming in oil. Some of the screws will not sit ( the threading has been stripped.) I bought the car used and someone replaced the gasket without using a torgue wrench. Do I have to get it rethreaded or can the sleeves be replaced?

If they are slighty stripped you can always careful re-thread them. Just make sure no metal shavings get onto the valvetrain. Some grease, magnets and rags go a long way for jobs like these.
