I have a 1992 Honda Prelude. It is an automatic. When I try to take it out of park it sticks alot. I really have to tug on it to get it out of park. Once out of park the lever shifts smoothly from gear to gear. The transmission shifts correctly while its moving. It feels like something is sticking but I'm not sure where.

Thanks. Joe

Next time the thing sticks try putting in the key to see if it releases easier. You might have a lock that is worn and have another issue such as a switch that is failing.

I tried putting the key in the shift release slot. Same result. Still pulled into gear hard. I had the stop light switch changed already. Is there anything inthe shifting mechanism itself that could be hanging up?
