2004 Honda Pilot noise while driving between 35-45 mph

2004 Honda Pilot 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 144000 miles
I have had the same problem as i've heard stated here, random noise that sounds like air rattling something in the engine, or driving over a grate -
it happens while driving on a flat grade, 35-50 miph, doesn't seem to affect anything else, lasts from 1/2 second - 15 or 20 seconds - disturbing.
