Heating tie rod ends

Steering problem
2003 Honda Pilot 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 101260 miles

While attempting a recent wheel alignment it was found that the tie rod ends were rusted fast to the adjustment bolt. A local tire dealer heated the tie rod ends and was able to properly align the car. Honda is now telling me those parts have been weakened because of the heat and the car is unsafe. The area of discoloration from the heating is about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Could the localized application of heat on the tie rod ends have weakened them to the point they are unsafe? The tie rod ends are at least 1 inch in diameter with about a 3/8 inch rod threaded into the middle. Should I be concerned about the strength of these once heated tie rod ends?
