Coolant leak at bellhousing

I have a 1994 honda passport, 3.2L V-6 auto trans 4x4 . With a bad coolant leak. At first glance it appeared a rear freeze plug was leaking behind the trans. I pulled the trans only to find there are no freeze plugs back there. Upon further inspection i found a small hole simalar to a weep hole on a water pump at the top of the bellhousing. Still under the trans though. What is that hole for, why is it there? What would cause antifreeze to come out of that hole? Pretty bad i might add. Would it hurt to just J-B weld it shut and go on my way. I'm sure its there for a reason. But what???????????[img]
