Howto check Clutch?

Is their any way to check a clutch with the motor and transmission out of the car with out pulling it totally apart? What tool will I need?

There is no practical way to check a clutch assembly if the engine and tranny are out.

Remove the bolts around the pressure plate (clutch cover) and inspect the assembly. You can see obvious cracks, groved pressure plate, rusty springs. You can spin the bearing for noise.

It isn't that expensive to replace the clutch assembly once it is out as the repair is labor intensive. Good luck
