Power window forced too high

I've got a 1997 Honda Oddesy w/200,000 miles. The windows had been working fine. My sister held the front passenger window switch on too long and it forced the window to become stuck up too high. It's crammed up their pretty good. The switch won't release the window. Are the gears ruined? Can they be reset? And most importantly can a "Mechanicly Challenged" person such as myself handle this adjustment? Please help. Clueless in Modesto
