My 2000 Honda Odysse will not start after a very cold night. It turns over very fast but just will not start. Once I warm it up for about 30 minutes in the garage or the sun hits it for awhile it will start. Once it is warmed up it starts fine the rest of the day. Any ideas?

Hi keet02,

Thank you for the donation.

Is the Check Engine Light showing when engine is running?
Whenyou try to start on a cold morning, does the CEL comes on and goes off after 2 seconds?

Difficult starting could be due to many factors and you would have to perform testings to determine what could possibly be the cause.

1. Fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump. If the pressure is low, cold starting would not have the desired richer fuel to start up.

2. Spark plugs or coils. Weak sparks would not ignite that easily, especially when cold.

3. Electrical controls such as the PGM-FI main relay. There are known cases of this relay causing problem due to temperature differences. The circuit board solders have defects and temperature fluctuation causes the contacts to vary.

Here is a link for you to check through what may be missing causing the non start.

Go through them and see if you can find any info that might help in resolving the problem.
