1999 Honda Odyssey 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Are there any special tools required to remove the rotors on this vehicle? I previously owned a 1997 Accord and there was a tool required to remove the rotors. I don't want to get this half way torn apart and find out I need something special to finish the job.

Hello,

Once you get everything else apart and are read to remove the rotor there are 2 6mm disc retaining screws.

You will need 2 - 8 x 1.25 x 12mm bolts. Put them in existing holes and alternate tightening until disc comes off.

So the 6mm screws are removed and the 8mm screws are then threaded into the holes forcing the disc off?

Well, yes that is how it is supposed to work. However, in most cases you will need a hammer also. Snug the 2 bolts down and turn another 1/4 turn then take hammer and hit around center, then tighten bolts down some more, continue till disc comes off.

Thank you, doesn't sound like it will be too bad (if you have a big enough hammer)
