1999 Honda Odyssey EGR VALVE

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I HAD IT CHECKED. COME BACK IMPROPER FUEL FLOW, SO I HAD THE EGR VALVE REPLACED WAS GOOD FOR @ 35 MILES THEN LIGHT CAME BACK ON. SAME CODE IMPROPER FLOW CALLED MY MECHANIC HE SAID HE MAY NEED TO CLEAN THE LINE, I'M NO MECHANIC BUT SHOULDN'T THAT BY CUSTOMARY TO CLEAN ALL LINES WHEN REPLACING THIS VALVE AND IF THIS STILL DOES NOT KEEP THE LIGHT OFF WHAT SHOULD THE NEXT STEP BE?

Common honda v6 problem. Obviously he doesn't know much about these cars.

The upper intake needs to be pulled off and the egr port cleaned and drilled out as per honda's tsb. There is a special drill bit to perform this that you buy from honda.
