Hello,

A problem just started with our Odyssey wipers, and I cannot pinpoint if it is the switch, wiper motor, or something else. Last week, the wipers started going full speed out of the blue without the wiper switch ever being turned on (this is when the ignition switch is on or in running position). Even when I disconnected the switch, the wipers still go full speed. Is it suppose to do that? The only way to shut them down with the car running was to pull the fuse.

I have read a lot of different forums, and they are saying that it is either the switch or the motor. While the wipers are in this operating state, all of the other functions of the switch work properly (front and rear window washers/rear wiper), but going through off/intermittent/low/high changes nothing.

I pulled out the switch to test continuity, but all I could find was a TSB that was posted on 01/11/09 on this site for a '98 Civic having some wiper issues. What I wanted to see is if the continuity tests posted are the same for my car as well. In utilizing those test patterns, what I found was that the functions for the rear wiper/washer work properly, but the only function that works according to the diagram for front is the mist function.

Is there something else I should be checking? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You got 3-wipermotor relays -Check and test all of them one of them could be sticking, especially the high speed relay
