A/C not working properly

In the last month my A/C has been blowing cold air usually when I first start out then suddenly shifting to outside air sometime later. Sometimes turning it off waiting a while, then turning it back on will cause it to work for a while. I can tell by the slight lug on the engine when the A/C is going to work or not. Push the button (Lug) then it works! Push the button (no Lug) then no cold air. It has gotten worse and worse. Lately it only works about 10% of the time. When it does work, the air is ice cold. Any Ideas?

The issue is most likely a failing compressor. The way to tell this is to check the pressures when it is operating properly and when you say it is not going to work.

Any time you have an A/C issue we need to start with checking pressures because that is going to tell us what is going on in the system.

If I am correct, then we are going to have to replace the compressor so here is a guide that will help with this.

However, we need to start with pressures and consult this chart below that will help with possible issues.

Let me know what you find with this, and we can go from there.

Thanks
