91 Honda CRX SI, 1.6L 210000 miles with 5000 on new rebuild. Most times when I try to start my car it will start to crank for a few seconds, then start to sputter for a few seconds and it sounds as if it is only starting on one cylinder. When I turn it off and wait a few minets, it will do it again but not as bad. Once it acually starts it runs fine. If I I tried to cycle the key a few times before I try to start but no luck, same thing. It has been getting worse within the last 3000 miles. Also I bumped the compression up to 11.5:1 which is making me think it could be ignition. The fuel pump is turning on and I had changed the fuel filter when I rebuilt the engine.

I recommend you check the fuel pressure, sounds like your losing the residual pressure quick, could be the pump/regulator/leakin injector/s.
