Hi im just a beginner in cars and I really wanna learn everything there is. I know its gonna be tough but I thought this was a good place to ask questions :). For my first car which im going to get soon when I turn 16, I wanted to get a crx shell and put a b18c5 in it(i've been researching alot) and I know its gonna be tough but I know im gonna have fun doing it, but my question is, can I put a 96-97 engine in a 88 and less shell.O and any "be careful of this" would be nice. Thank you so much.

You might have better luck over in the Honda section, those guys are a little more familiar with swaps

That is a task that might have me asking a couple of questions. I might be able to muddle through the mechanical issue of motor mounts and drive axle issues. I would be lost with the wiring of the computer.

Suggestion - it is a nice thought to do, but you will spend a lot of money in the process to end up with an older car and a continuous string of questions about things that don't work.

For a starter, get a car that runs. Make repairs yourself and learn to care for one you can put on the road when you are ready and not a year or so after the time you can start to drive.

Just my nicket of advice.

Thank you for ur advice it really helped. After I thought it through and looked through my options and it does seem kinda dumb, I think I will wait and see what I can do with just simply taking care of a car, like you siad. But i'm still really itching to do somthing challenging, or somthing I can be proud of. But I do have to admit it wouldv'e been sweet to put an engine like that in lil crx. Well I feel less motivated to jump on the band wagon now, but a little more motivated to learn all I can so I dont have say "im not going to do it because I dont no it".

Well thnk you so much for ur help and im glad you answered to my question becuase if anyone else answered giving me pointers or ideas on doing it, I had already picked out the engine, crx, and other stuff for it.

P.S prolly be back in a year or two asking if I should put a b18c5 in del sol :)
