I pulled the codes yesterday and they are p0505, p1077, p1505 and p1167. After a couple minutes of the high irratic idle, it goes into a short choppy irratic idle bouncing rapidly up and down a 300 rpm span. I checked for vacuum leaks and there are none. I have access to mitchell ondemand and I am trying to find some time to run some tests. What are the chances the IAC is faulty, and is it cleanable like other honda models?

Hi 98jdmcivic,

From the code symptom descriptions, the IAC is a very likely cause.

Cleaning shoulod be able to resolve problem but might require it to be removed. The IAC valve could be stuck and you would need to clean and kick start the valve by moving it from the stucked position with the aid of some thing sharp. Take care not to damage valve as material is not too hard and can be easily damaged.
