My 1997 Honda CRV runs fine and I am thinking of selling it and get a new car around this winter. I was told to change to timing belt, coming back from the 90,000-mile maintain service. I am on a tight budget now and wondering how risky it is if I do not change within the next 6 months.

many thanks!

Depends on how many miles you put on it between now an dthen. Usually the Manufacturer service intervals leave some room, so they wont let go right at the mileage, but they do need to be done within a reasonable amount of time, 100k would be stretching it in my opinion, besides if you have it done before you seel it it is a good selling point
