Re: Ignition Problem
Hi,
I have a 1998 Civic EX coupe Auto. Someone broke into my car and broke my ignition. I was able to get a new ignition from junk yard. I am trying to swap the part where the key goes in to the ignition i got in junk yard. I removed the torx screw in the bottom, but the piece still wont come out. Is there a special tool needed or method???? thnks

it has a lock, and that only disengage turning the ignition key...
I guess you dont have that key..
you have to make a new one
Ask a locksmith to help you with that, and figure it out the expenses, probably its cheaper buying the part brand new

Hi there. I had that happen with my Civic, too. There are special tools needed to take the old ignition off. There are no grooves on the screws. I ended up taking mine to a mechanic and having him swap the part out for me. (yes, even the ignition that i got at the junkyard). it did have a set of keys with it. So hopefully you have those.
