Obnoxious squeaking
1990 Honda Civic DX (204K)
From the front end of the car comes a loud squeaking/rubbing sound that is most evident between 15 and 45 mph. It's at its worst in cold weather. The noise will sometimes get louder when I shift, but it continues when I coast in neutral or when I come to a stop. The car runs fine but the noise is very disconcerting. Could this be a belt issue? transmission? front axle? brakes?

my integra had that problem. it turned out to be the alternator belt. it was tight but not on right. check that. you dont want it to suddenly brake on you. if it is tight, buy some belt-dressing spray. that sometimes fixes it if its in line and tight
