I own a 1996 honda civic LX, 4 cylinder, with a 135,000 miles. I love my car, but unfortnately, it has become a 2 door sedan, because both my back doors will not open from inside or even the outside. It is driving me nuts. HELP. I'm a woman in need. AzSunnshine#9

Are they locked? It would be freaky to find that both door handle and latch assemblies failed at the same time. A little more info would really be appreciated.

No, they lock and unlock. It is like there is no tension, when you lift the handle inside and out.

You are going to need to probe the inside of the door with a wire to locate the linkage directly connected to the latch assembly. I looked to find an illustration or picture of the assembly but could not find one.
