Engine knocking after timing belt replacement

Car: Honda Civic 1992, 1.5L 4cyl.

I recently took the car to a mechanic to get the timing belt and water pump replaced. Also, the cam seal, the the timing cover seal and the grommets of the Valve cover gasket set. After i got the car, it had a knocking from 2 to 3 k rpm and it sounded louder than usual. What exactly is wrong with my car? is it that the timing wasn't aligned correctly? I want to know so that I can make a decision on wheather to take it back to get it done right or take it somewhere else. thanx

You have an interference engine, if they did not put the belt on right, It probably has internal damage from the piston hitting the valves. Take it back, that is serious and may be too late.
