Electrical issues

Hiya,

I have a 2002 Civic EX (1.7L engine, I think) with just under 100K miles on it. About a month ago my car wasn't starting, even with a jumpstart, so I replaced the battery. After that, everything seemed fine until about a week or so ago. I was idling at a stoplight, and I noticed certain electrical items failed--the radio died, the gauges fell to zero, and the ABS light came on. As soon as I began driving again, they all started working again; this only happened once or twice and I forgot about it. A day later, my car wouldn't start. I jumpstarted it with no problems, and everything was fine for a week. Yesterday, the problem repeated--buggy electrics one day, no start the next. This time when I jumped it, we tested both the battery and the alternator--no dead cells in the battery, alternator was putting out a consistent 14 amps while idling. Any ideas what the issue might be? Thanks in advance.

I would still look at the alternator closer.

I have Same car, Same Year, Same Problem

It also showed up about a month ago.

I also replaced the battery about a month ago.

All the electrical stuff keep shutting off and on during the 20 minute drive to work this morning.

I am curious if you got this problem resolved.

Thanks.

Ur alternator maybe putting out 14 volt. What about at the battery. Any1 do an entire voltage drop on ur system. Under a load. What battery voltage b4 n also @ cranking.
Most of the time i've seen posts in this site or real customers walk in the door n said something is tested, turn out they either test it wrong or not complete. Car repair is not black major. For instances
a new after market parts is proper function or not has almost a 99% no verification of repair or suspicion by most people to test out the system. New part = problem fix or systemchk is a very deadly concept n toxic thinking. Thats the differences between pro & amateur.
