Cooling System

I have a 1994 Honda Civic EX. It keeps overheating. The water pump was leaking and we replaced it. Then the cooling locked up and we got another fan. When we installed the new fan, it would not kick on. We then purchased a relay that goes to the cooling fan and that was not the problem. I am told that there is another relay that goes to the fan, but I do not know what it is, or even if that is the problem. We now have the fan wired up to the a/c fan so that I can manually stop and start it.

Can you help me to identify the cause of this?

Did you change the thermastat when you put a new water pump on, sometimes depending on age they have a tendency to stick once the engine overheats. I would change the thermastat, with the engine cold fill the radiator, start engine and let warm up watch the temp guage. When the thermastat opens the water level will go down. Refill it and let it run until you can see it is circulating. If the anti freeze starts to bubble out there is a clog somewhere. With reference to the fan the system could be vapor locked. With changing the themastat and seeing that it is circulating it should take care of the problem. Unless there is a problem with the fan and relays.
