'92 Honda Civic Hatchback/30000km/1.3L. Help me pls, my clutch pedal stays down occassionally while driving. The car drives ok after a long rest (a day or two) but the problem resurfaces and becomes much more evident as I continue to drive. I'd like to hear some ideas since I am a car novice and would like some info before I bring it to the shop. Thank you very much.

By staying down, you mean it won't return to normal position after pressing down? Sound to me the return spring could be weak or the linkage could use some lube.

Wow that was fast! Yes, the clutch won't return to normal position, I need to pop it back into place by hooking it up with my left foot. Thanks for your input, I'll be visiting the shop tomorrow and will post the results of that here.

Just got back from the shop. You hit the bullseye bootdog. The mechanic found a leak somewhere(m not gud at cars) took it apart and showed me what he called a "clutch operating secondary?" It was a small part bout the size of a plug with a spring and some rubber around it. He then bled the transmission, cleaned it, then replaced the part with a new one for about $3 and now it drives ok. There was still some squeaks whenever I step on the clutch but he said that it was due to the rusty clutch disc. He advised to have it replaced when it slips together with the pressure plate and another part so they would only have to take my engine apart once or the labor would cost me. Thanks again for the good advice and more power to this site! I'll be sure to tell my friends about this site because I have some girl buddies who are clueless with cars like me and they're always complaining to me how they feel like they've been robbed every time they get their cars fixed.
