I've got a 1998 Honda Civic EX,125k miles. The air compressor is making a loud rattling noise when not in use and has kind of a knocking sound when in use. Took it to a mechanic, quoted me about about 1,100 dollars to fix. Don't have the money right now. Will removing the ac belt affect any other part of the car? Really don't need the ac at the moment!
